What things do you take into consideration when planning a party?

I’m making a list for a project, but I need some help. Here’s what I have so far:
•When planning your menu, try to include vegetarian options for your guests.
•Always include a wide variety of beverage options, especially when you plan to serve alcohol.
This project is for a mock party that would have about 450 guests…so any tips you’d like to contribute are welcome…

1. When is the party? Weekday/Weekend? More people will attend weekends than weekdays.
2. Where is the party? Indoors/Outdoors? Plan for weather forecast and capacity of guests.
3. How are people getting there? Bus/Shuttle/Car- Prepare for parking
4. How long is the party? This will give you a better idea of how much drinks/food needs to be served. People usually take 1-2 drinks per hour.
5. Is this a sit down/buffet/cocktail party? This will determine where people sit or stand and how many chairs and tables need to be prepared.
6. Food menu – Anyone with allergies/vegetarians/children
7. Drink menu – You don’t want alcoholics and neither do you want a bar stocked with excess types of alcohol nobody drinks. Stick to the basics
8. Theme of party – Occasion
9. Music – DJ or no DJ?
10. Service help – hiring waiters for clearing/cleaning? Personal chef or catering company?
There is so much stuff I could think of but it’s early in the morning and I can’t think.. Hahaha! Good luck..

Decide event purpose (raise funds, visibility, celebration, etc.)
Choose a theme
Visit potential sites!!!!!!!!
If other individuals will be helping roll out event, make list of each person duties
Collect cost estimates (site rental, food, drinks, sound/lights, etc.); creat excel sheet for budget
If having entertainment, gather recommendations for entertainment; hold auditions
Get bids for entertainment
Plan Decor, get bids
Send invites, get bids on cost(don’t forget to add in the cost of postage!)
Compile mailing list (individuals/businesses)
Check proposed date for potential conflicts, finalize date in writing
Develop alternative site (if event is outdoors)
Pick graphic artist; begin invitation design
Develop calendar of task list
Select photographer
Investigate need for special permits, licenses, insurance, etc.
